Be quite! Shut up!Too rude?
These are some idioms that you can use to sound... well, polite.
- Put a sock in it!
- Cork it! - Keep quite!
- Simmer down! - To someone who is angry
- Wind your neck in! - To someone who gives a lot of opinions
- Pipe down!
- Button up! - Close your mouth!
- Zip up!
Some of these don't sound polite, are they? But, you will sound smart if you use them in Malaysia. Well, because, we hardly use them.
